Jennifer Hiniker, DAVCS

Dr. Hiniker attended the University of Georgia for both undergraduate and veterinary school, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She then entered Active Duty in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, serving as a general practitioner at Fort Bragg, NC; Taszar, Hungary; and White Sands, NM, and providing veterinary support at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT.
In 2003, Dr. Hiniker was accepted into a Small Animal Surgery residency at Colorado State University, completing her residency in 2006 and earning board certification in 2008. During her time in the Veterinary Corps, she provided surgical care and consultation both in the U.S. and internationally, held multiple roles in research and teaching, served as Theater Veterinary Surgeon in Afghanistan, and was Chief of Surgery at the Daniel Holland Working Dog Hospital at Lackland AFB, TX. She has lectured globally to military, veterinary, and medical audiences on topics including gastric dilatation and volvulus, emergency care of working dogs, wound management, and trauma management.
Dr. Hiniker and her family enjoy camping, football, running, hiking, traveling, experiencing good food, and touring on their motorcycle. She is excited to bring specialty surgical care to Cladda’s clients and patients while building strong relationships with the Northern Virginia veterinary community.
